Five Years Event
The George Washington University offers a number of combined five-year bachelor's/master's programs to its undergraduate students. For most programs, students must apply by the end of their junior year. Below, is a list of programs offered through the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Students must submit this Five Year Application form in addition to the online application. The application fee is waived for all current GW students.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I submit the Five Year Application?
Please print and complete the Five Year Application form in addition to the online application and submit it to the Office of Graduate Admissions in Tompkins Hall, 103.
Do I have to provide the School with my official GW transcripts?
Most of the time, the Office of Graduate Admissions is able to pull your transcripts directly from Banner. If we are unable to do so, we will request that you provide an official copy from the Office of the Registrar.
I took classes at a college or university outside of GW. Do I need to provide transcripts for those classes?
Yes. Please have transcripts sent directly from the institution to the mailing address below.

I would like to be considered for a graduate assistantship or fellowship, are there any other documents I need to submit?
Yes, you must submit three letters of recommendation and a GRE score.
- When completing the online application, include the name and email addresses of your recommenders in the recommendation section; your recommenders will then receive an email with instructions for submitting their letters online. Please do not send letters in hard copy format.
- GRE scores should be sent through ETS to institution code 5246. GRE scores expire after five years.
